Meghan Markle Proves Her Acting Skills Again On Her Cameo

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex made a cameo appearance in a recently published coffee ad in which she had reportedly invested. Her cameo came after the former actress’ last acting work in 2017.
After her surprise appearance in the TV advertisement on December 19, viewers and her fans speculated that it might be a hint that the former actress will be coming back to the big screen very soon, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
More than five years after Meghan Markle officially retired from the entertainment industry, she was caught making a minor role in a recent latte promotional video on Instagram for a coffee brand called Clevr Blends, in which she is one of the investors. In the coffee ad, the co-founder of Clevr, Hannah Mendoza, is seen taking us, viewers, through the headquarters of Clevr company as the staff are seen engaged in their work in the background. In the released video, Hannah Mendoza gives an emotional speech to her coworkers, giving special shoutouts to associates from various departments. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle can be seen reappearing many times during the entire video, such as when Hannah is handing over a drink to her founding partner and when the Clevr team is packing boxes as she shows her appreciation for the team’s efforts.
Meghan nailed her role in the campaign video as she is seen taking the lead in her team, subtly reminding us of the old Megan from the Suits TV show. She is seen sitting on a chair in the background, taking a sip from a bottle in her hand and wearing a pair of glasses as Hannah Mendoza gives an introduction to the coffee brand.
Hannah Mendoza ends the promotional video with a powerful statement, “Finally, the glue that literally holds us all together. Our incredible, resilient fulfilment team that has helped make 2023 such a big success.”, while Megan strides forward fist-bumping her co-worker as she pretends to be on a phone call before bursting out in laughter.
After the campaign video was posted on the official Clevr page on Instagram, several British media platforms speculated that it might have another context to it. For instance, The Daily Mail cited that according to some Royal insiders, the promo was Markle’s shot to redefine herself as “a media personality who is ‘entertaining and not afraid to poke fun at herself.’” Meanwhile, The London Evening Standard asserted that the ad was an indication that “the only way is down from here”, while GBNews alleged that Meghan is embodying Hollywood more than her royal role.
While the Duchess of Sussex decided to take a break from the film and entertainment industry in 2017 before officially tying the knot with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Meghan has yet to leave the acting world completely behind. In fact, after Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, decided to step back from their royal duties as prominent royal members of the British Royal Family in 2020, the duo went ahead and launched their brand named Archewell, a partially non-profit business organization.
While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have worked together and focused on their family life behind the scenes for a long period, the duo made an appearance in 2022 in the Netflix docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan’, where they opened up about the struggles they went through when they were still in the Royal Family, the decision relocated to California, and gave a sneak peek into their 4-year-old son, Prince Archie, and 2-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet.
Additionally, Meghan took up the mike for her Spotify podcast Archetypes, which included guests like Margaret Cho, Mindy Kaling, and her close friend Serena Williams and discussed breaking down the preconceptions placed around women in various fields.
Talking about the project, the Duch and Duchess of Sussex commented in 2022, “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction. There has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
