4th Phase of Mission Shakti Confirmed to Launch on October 14

On October 14, a women empowerment rally will be organized in all district headquarters to create awareness among the people, said Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Durga Shankar Mishra. All the participants are expected to move on vehicles and along with the participants, 112 PVR vehicles with ambulances are also going to be a part of this rally. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath will launch the 4th phase of the Mission Shakti campaign, organized in Lok Bhawan with the purpose of empowering women and making them self-reliant. 

The state government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, 12th October 2023, issued an order to set in motion the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, a women empowerment program that is to be held on 14th October 2023. Songs that represent and spread the message of women’s empowerment will be played, with participants carrying posters and banners on various schemes launched by the government of Uttar Pradesh in accordance with Mission Shakti will be present, announced Durga Shankar Mishra.

Chief Secretary continued saying that the people would be enlightened and awareness would be created about different schemes and programs such as the Widow Pension Scheme, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana, Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao, Chief Minister Bal Sewa Yojana, and many other schemes launched by the state government as well as the central government. Indulgence of local representatives is ensured during the rally to spread awareness. Even the presence of well-known women and women officers on this auspicious occasion is ensured, Durga Shankar said.

Students attending basic and secondary schools or who have applied for these schools will participate in the ‘prabhat pheris’ in order to create awareness among the people. Public Address System would be utilized to inform the people about the launch of the campaign. Mass awareness will be organized statewide on October 14 and 15. The government is to launch various programs on October 16 across the state as per the statement by the Chief Secretary. 

In 57,705 gram panchayats and 14,000 wards of Uttar Pradesh, the programs would be organized once a week. Employees of both villages and wards would inform the people about the various schemes in detail, attend to the problems faced by women, make them knowledgeable about the benefits of the scheme, and enroll them in schemes launched by the government, he said. 

Furthermore, women should be informed about the helpline platforms and other platforms launched by both the state government and the central government to check crime against women, he mentioned. 

As per the planned action of each department, the rural department, BC Sakhis would be trained to become master trainers in self-defense by local women police personnel. The master trainers would give lessons to the girls present in rural areas on self-defense. A 7-day residential training called Mahila Mangal Dal would be provided by the youth welfare department which focuses on self-defense, self-reliance, and empowerment. All these three things fall under the Nirbhaya Scheme.

The Department of Women and Child Care would organize training on self-defense for the girls staying in the shelter homes. A campaign on awareness about cybercrimes and women’s safety would be conducted in every district of Uttar Pradesh with the cooperation of the police department.
